The Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery Homicide Division announced the arrest of an individual believed to be involved in string of violent street robberies that have taken place across the city since early this month.

Detectives are seeking the public's help in providing any information that might lead to the identification and arrest of additional suspects.

Quioness Wilson of Pasadena was taken into custody on Sept. 8. He was believed to be the getaway driver for the crimes, which included a brazen daytime gunpoint robbery on Tuesday at a café on Melrose Avenue captured by security cameras.

Six other crimes are being attributed to the suspects, including an attempted robbery on Sept. 1 at 11th and Santee Streets; two robberies that same day at an apartment complex on West Olympic Boulevard and another at the corner of Gardner Street and Melrose Avenue; and three other robberies on Tuesday, at a Footlocker store on Melrose, at a condominium complex on South Hill street and at a comedy club on Whitley Avenue.

"We are disturbed by this brazen daytime robbery which was captured on video and we are committed to fighting violent crime and using all our resources to keep all Angelenos safe," said LAPD Chief Michel Moore in a statement.
