The owners of a beloved restaurant in Southern California will be virtual guests during tonight's Presidential Address by President Joe Biden.

LISTEN LIVE at 6 PM PST

Angela and J.C. Johnson are the owners of The Serving Spoon in Inglewood, Calif.

During the address, Biden will detail his plan for universal preschool that is included in his $1.8 trillion pitch to help families and in education Wednesday night. The joint address to Congress will take place among invites-only and with no guests allowed.

The soul food restaurant is one of many Southern California restaurants that struggled during the pandemic.

They tell FOX 11 the invitation by Congresswoman Maxine Waters to attend was very unexpected.

"We are very very shocked like 'oh wow, we are doing this.' We were surprised," they said.

Congresswoman Waters says the Serving Spoon has proudly served the community for decades,  and she was proud to invite them as her guests.
