Canyon Country school vandalized; investigation underway

Mint Canyon Elementary School in Canyon Country was placed on lockdown Wednesday after an act vandalism was apparently caused by someone with a pellet or bb gun, authorities said.

Deputies were sent to the school in the 16400 block of Sierra Highway Wednesday morning, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

No injuries or arrests were reported.

Deputies were searching an area near the campus, which remained on lockdown late Wednesday morning.
