LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Police announced Wednesday they had arrested the boyfriend of a missing Sherman Oaks woman, known to be a manager to multiple celebrities, who turned up dead in Simi Valley just two days before Christmas.
Angela “Angie” Kukawski was reported missing Dec. 22 in Sherman Oaks, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Her body was found a day later inside her vehicle, which was located by authorities parked on a Simi Valley street.
Detectives believe Kukawski’s boyfriend, 49-year-old Jason Barker, killed the woman inside their Sherman Oaks residence, placed her inside her vehicle, and then drove it to Simi Valley, where he abandoned it.
Barker was arrested and booked into Van Nuys Jail on suspicion of murder, police said. Barker is being held on $3 million bail, according to inmate records.
According to Variety, Kukawski worked as a business manager at Boulevard Management in Woodland Hills, with clients including the Kardashians, Nicki Minaj, and Kanye West. She was a mother of five.
In a statement to Variety, Boulevard Management officials said, “We are saddened and heartbroken by the loss of our colleague, Angie Kukawski. Angie was a kind, wonderful person, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Our deepest condolences go out to all of Angie's family and friends."
