Cole’s French Dip in downtown Los Angeles is closing its doors this weekend for good…for real this time.

The restaurant, known for its French Dip sandwiches, is closing its doors on Sunday night after more than a century.

Owner Cedd Moses told KNX News’ Nataly Tavidian the restaurant was a labor of love.

“It's really tough. I've been coming here to the restaurant since the 80s,” he said. “Personally, it was a labor of love just buying the place and putting almost 2 million into renovations to bring it back, but we had a great 18 years of running it, and now we're hopeful that someone else will take the reins at some point.”

Moses said rising costs since COVID have made it harder to keep the restaurant going.

He also said he’s expecting the restaurant to be packed on its final weekend.

“Already expecting huge lines and big turnout for people wanting to try all these different chefs' versions of the dips and fries too,” he said.
