Costco alerts customers to Kool-Aid recall for drinks that may contain metal/glass

LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Costco is alerting customers of a Kool-Aid recall on behalf of the KraftHeinz company. The mega retailer says large-sized containers of the brand's Tropical Punch flavored drink could have trace amounts of metal or glass.

The 82.5 ounce containers were sold at Costco's warehouse and business centers in the Los Angeles region and in other parts of the Northwest.

The Kool-Aid jars are are marked as item #95740 and have "best when used by" dates of 2023-08-31 and 2023-09-01.

KraftHeinz announced the recall for the items "due to the potential presence of foreign material, specifically very small pieces of metal or glass," according to a statement shared Nov. 11.

Anyone who has the product, is asked to check for the best when used by dates and, if they have one of the recalled items, to stop using it and call a local Costco for a full refund.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused," KraftHeinz said, adding that consumers with concerns can also call KraftHeinz Consumer Relations at 855-713-9237 daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.
