Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn told KNX News’ Craig Fiegener she’s still supporting President Joe Biden in the race for president.
“I think Democrats should line up and say, ‘We're voting for Joe Biden,’ just like the Republicans are lining up and saying they're voting for a convicted felon,” she said. “But I do think Joe Biden needs to own being old and I think he needs to say, ‘We're both old.’ [Former] President Trump and President Biden are both older and there's nothing wrong with that.”
She added that she’s not concerned about Biden’s health.
“I think he's perfectly capable of being president of the United States,” she said.
Her comments come after actor and director George Clooney wrote an op-ed in the New York Times calling for Biden to withdraw from the presidential race.
“We are not going to win in November with this president,” Clooney wrote.
“ On top of that, we won’t win the House, and we’re going to lose the Senate.
This isn’t only my opinion, this is the opinion of every senator and congress member and governor that I’ve spoken with in private.”
Biden has maintained since the June 27 debate that he is staying in the race.
