After making their return with a brand new studio album in early 2023 with seven years between their fourth collection, 2016's Misadventures, and their fifth, The Jaws of Life, bassist Jaime Preciado, guitarist Tony Perry, and frontman Vic Fuentes dropped by to talk about the new release, inspirations behind the effort, and more.

On top of their current road schedule which will take them next to Las Vegas' When We Were Young festival October 21 + 22, Pierce The Veil recently released their latest single and music video for "12 Fractures," a collab with Chloe Moriondo.

Regarding their brief hiatus -- aside from the pandemic period -- singer and guitarist Vic Fuentes says the band decided to take a break simply because they had been consistently on the road for fourteen years prior. "We took a moment to recharge and get excited again to make the new record," he explains. "One thing that kept us going," he says, "was the fans writing in all the time and being so supportive. Just a little comment like that saying, 'I can't wait for new music,' would get us excited to get back in the studio. It was really helpful."

"Our fans have inspired songs, albums," Vic adds. "It's a big part of what keeps us going and I think, for this record, we always had the fans in mind. When we were in New Orleans, in the studio, we actually printed out photos of our crowds... and hung them around the studio to kind of remind us." Bassist Jaime Preciado adds, "Picture us at like, Kinkos, with posters of the shows that we played -- and decorated this house. I don't even know what we did. Did we just leave 'em at the house? The guy that came home was like, 'Who the f*** are these guys?'"

"That was the inspiration," Fuentes admits, "to keep the fans in mind -- and where we were gonna eventually go was in front of these people that we really miss."
