Firefighters battle blaze at Boyle Heights building

Firefighters battled a blaze at a Boyle Heights building on Wednesday.

It happened in the 1400 block of S Los Palos St. Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Margaret Stewart told L.A.’s Morning News the call came in at 9:10 a.m.

And when we got on scene, we could see heavy smoke coming from the roof,” she said.

It took more than 70 firefighters to extinguish the fire in 48 minutes, according to the fire department.

“Firefighters quickly established hose lines on the roof of the building and contained the fire to a portion of the large solar panel array atop the commercial structure,” fire officials said.


No injuries were reported.
