Some white smoke, but still mostly big clouds of black smoke are being put up by a huge fire at a pallet yard in Compton. Firefighters are battling the blaze at Rosecrans Avenue and Alameda Street.
The fire has been burning for more than two hours Wednesday afternoon, and it's still putting up a large amount of smoke.
At least one home was seen burning and deputies are evacuating everyone who lives in the path of these flames.
Channel-2 News helicopter reporter Desmond Shaw had a look at the nearby residential neighborhood.
The fire has been upgraded to a fourth alarm. Winds could be a factor in the spread of the flames.
