With Weekend 1 of Coachella 2022 in full swing, Audacy has been backstage picking the brains of some of this year's artists to find out what the festival experience is like for them as performers as well as attendees.

LISTEN NOW: Girl In Red chats with Nicole Alvarez

Norwegian Indie-pop singer Marie Ringheim, better known as girl in red, made sure she took in some of Coachella 2022's main acts -- like Phoebe Bridgers and Harry Styles, for example -- as she looks ahead to perfecting her own stage show.

Although she does get a chance to be in the moment as a music fan, "I'm really into other people's set design," Marie tells Audacy's Nicole Alvarez. "Harry had this gigantic set design that was really inspiring, and also Phoebe had a really cool one -- so, I guess I'm paying attention to what other people are doing because I feel like I never come up with anything good."

At just 23 years old, Marie remembers getting her first taste of Coachella on Tumblr in 2012 and became "obsessed" with the outfits and "California dream" vibe... realizing once she began creating music on her own that it was a pretty big deal. He first chance to perform came two years prior, but unfortunately that chance was shut down by COVID.

Now that she's finally arrived, this year she plans on commanding the stage and taking that energy, and some of the bright ideas of her contemporaries on the road. "I don't want to do anything I've done before," she says. "I wanna keep making new, cool s***!"
