Home invaders ransacked Studio City home of bedridden child, beat father

LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Los Angeles police were searching for up to five suspected home invaders who allegedly beat a man on Thursday night before ransacking his home in Studio City.

The incident was reported at around 7:30 p.m. at a residence in the 10800 block of Alta View Drive near Mulholland Drive. The man reportedly was taking out the trash when he was approached by four to five armed and masked men, according to the LAPD.

The victim was beaten and ordered back into the house. Three other people were inside the home, including two caretakers for the man’s child, who is bedridden with an unspecified condition.

“They put flex cuffs on them and then they ransacked the location,” LAPD Det. Todd Holmberg said Friday.

The suspects were described as adult males who were believed to be driving two Hyundai vehicles.

The father was hospitalized Thursday night with bruising to his face but was reported to be recovering.
