
Authorities are investigating two street takeovers that occurred on Sunday, with one happening on the Sixth Street Bridge and the other in Compton.
At least 125 drivers were detained early Sunday morning following a street takeover on the Sixth Street Bridge in Los Angeles.
Officer Mike Lopez with the LAPD told KNX News’ Jon Baird the department received numerous calls about street racers shutting down the bridge.
“We had received numerous radio calls of approximately three to 400 vehicles blocking the Sixth Street bridge,” he said.
He added that out of the 125 drivers detained, at least 20 vehicles were impounded and 150 citations were issued.
On Sunday night, L.A. County deputies responded to another street takeover in which four people were shot.
It happened in the area of Alondra Boulevard and Central Avenue around 10:30 p.m., according to City News Service.

Four people were hospitalized. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
No arrests were reported.
