LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Los Angeles County Parks are soon to be the go-to spots for some Winter fun! The County expects to transform more than 30 parks into after dark destinations with fun for the whole family for three weekends this December.

"Parks After Dark returns with a captivating Winter Wonderland experience that will bring holiday cheer and 40 tons of snow to 33 L.A. County Parks in the month of December," the County said in a statement.

You're reading that right — 40 tons of a snow complete with sled rides all at a park near you for a "frosty good time."

The Parks and Recreation Department said festivities will include snow play areas, holiday crafts, hot cocoa stations, food giveaways, filled stockings for every child and of course, a visit from Santa Claus.

The fun events, taking place on Dec. 3-4, Dec. 10-11 and Dec. 17-18 are completely free for everyone.

Winter Wonderlands will be held in Whittier, La Puente, Los Angeles, Covina, Compton, Sylmar, Quartz Hill, Littlerock, Altadena and more. For a full list of participating parks, click here.
