LOS ANGELES (KNX) –All Los Angeles Unified School District students and employees, regardless of their vaccination status, will have to get a COVID-19 baseline test before school starts back up for spring semester.

The semester begins Jan. 11. Students and employees must present proof of negative COVID-19 test that day.

Employees and students can get a baseline test beginning Monday. Los Angeles Unified provides COVID-19 testing for students and staff without an appointment necessary.

The announcement comes two days after the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health announced that all public and private school employees need to wear surgical-grade masks or KN95 or N95 respirator masks.
