LA County is seeing more jobs come back as coronavirus restrictions are eased.

The labor force increased by more than 210,000 from January to February to a total of more than five million.

LA County Economic Development Corporation economist Shannon Sedgwick says the food industry saw a big gain in jobs.

"February is the first month where the labor force numbered over five million since February of last year," she says.

But Sedgwick says the numbers are still lower than what they were a year ago so the county is far from a full recovery.

The county jobless rate dropped from over 12.5 percent in January to 11.5 percent in February.
