A man was arrested Thursday after allegedly attacking another man with a baseball bat and then barricading himself for several hours inside an apartment in Glendale.

Officers were sent to the 1800 block of Vassar Street, near Forest Lawn cemetery, about 1 a.m. Thursday on a report of assault at the apartment complex, the Glendale Police Department reported.

The victim came out of the apartment and was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries, but the suspect remained inside, reportedly armed with a knife, and a standoff ensued, police said.
