A Riverside County man has been arrested for allegedly shooting another man on the westbound Pomona (60) Freeway in Industry following a collision involving his truck and the other man's car, authorities said Friday.
Officers were sent to the 60 Freeway near Crossroads Parkway about 6:10 a.m. Thursday, where the wounded man stopped his car and sought help, according to the California Highway Patrol. Paramedics took him to a hospital for treatment.
Following an investigation, Michael Vickers, 50, of Moreno Valley was arrested at his residence about 2 p.m. Thursday, and he was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, the CHP reported.
According to the CHP, Vickers was driving a Ford F-250 pickup truck when his vehicle collided with a Honda Accord driven by Dustin Williams of Ontario, in San Bernardino County.

"Following the collision, Vickers fled the scene and Williams attempted to stop Vickers," a CHP statement said.
"Williams positioned the Honda in front of the Ford F-250 and came to a stop in the slow lane of SR-60 between Hacienda Boulevard and Seventh Avenue," the statement said.
"Williams exited his vehicle and confronted Vickers," the CHP reported. "Vickers responded by firing a weapon which resulted in Williams sustaining a gunshot wound. After the shooting, Vickers fled the scene and Williams looked for a safe location to stop and call 911."
"Williams was able to obtain the license plate to the Ford F-250 and provided the information to CHP investigators," the statement said. "Utilizing Department resources (and) Williams' ability to identify Vickers in a photographic lineup, Vickers was determined to be the shooter and was located at his residence. A search warrant was obtained for the premises and ... Vickers was taken into custody for attempted murder."
