Man arrested in connection to girlfriend's death in Thousand Oaks

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (KNX) - A man was arrested in connection with the death of his 24-year-old girlfriend early Christmas Eve.

The victim’s live-in boyfriend, Saul Nava, was arrested on suspicion of murder, mayhem, and torture, according to deputies.

Ventura County deputies responded to an emergency call around 1:18 a.m. in the 600 block of McCloud Avenue, according to a press release. The found the woman “unresponsive” and “with serious injuries.” She was pronounced dead.

Investigators said they found evidence she was tortured before she died, which led to Nava’s arrest.

Nava was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility on $2 million bail. His arraignment is set for Tuesday. Anyone with any information regarding this case is urged to contact Sheriff’s Major Crimes Sergeant Albert Ramirez at (805) 384-4761.
