LOS ANGELES (KNX) — A Los Angeles man was charged with murder in connection to a deadly Arcadia car shooting that occurred in September.
Sidney Terrance Johnson, 25, was arrested at his house on Wednesday after a two-month investigation, California Highway Patrol said.
His case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
On Sept. 4, 35-year-old Bertha Hernandez was shot and killed by another driver while she was driving eastbound on the Interstate 210 freeway. She then crashed her car into the right shoulder sound wall.
Officials said she was pronounced dead on the scene.
“Upon arrival, officers observed a solo vehicle that had multiple bullet holes on the driver’s side and the solo female occupant inside the vehicle had sustained multiple gunshot wounds,” California Highway Patrol Officer Jose Barrios said.
Johnson is booked at North County Correctional Facility. His bail was set at over $2 million.
His next court date appearance is scheduled for Dec. 16.
