Man fatally shot by San Gabriel officers following pursuit

A man was shot and killed by San Gabriel police following a pursuit that came to an end in Rosemead on Wednesday night.

It started just before 9 p.m. Officers with the San Gabriel Police Department attempted a traffic stop but the driver refused.

The pursuit continued through San Gabriel to the intersection of Charlotte and Garvey avenues in Rosemead, Sgt. Nhat Huynh of the San Gabriel Police Department told City News Service.

The pursuit came to an end in the 2600 block of Charlotte Ave. where the officers shot the man.

The man has not been identified at this time.

The California Department of Justice is investigating.
