A search was underway for the suspect who fatally shot a man in a restaurant at L.A. Live Tuesday night.
It happened at 6:15 p.m. at the Fixins Soul Kitchen near Crypto.com Arena.
The suspect, described by authorities as a man in his 40s, was dressed in dark clothing and wore a mask covering his face. He walked into the restaurant and shot a 43-year-old man who was sitting alone, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police said several bystanders tried to help the man before he was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

LAPD Commander Lillian Carranza said the suspect is considered to be "armed and dangerous and obviously, a threat to society," but police do not believe the shooting was done at random.
“We believe the suspect in this case knew the victim,” she said.
The restaurant's owners, former NBA point guard and Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, issued a statement after the shooting saying, "Fixins Soul Kitchen is shocked and saddened by the incident that occurred this evening at our LA location. Our hearts go out to the victim's family and loved ones."
The suspect took off in what police describe as a 2022 white Ford Escape. The car was last seen heading southbound on Figueroa to Olympic.
