A man was mortally wounded early Monday in the Vermont Knolls area of Los Angeles.
The shooting occurred at 12:15 a.m. Monday at 517 W. 84th St., according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department's Operations Center.
Two male suspects drove up, got out of a vehicle and shot the 45-year- old victim, the officer said.
The man was taken by ambulance to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, he said.

The victim's name was not released pending notification of relatives.
