
A 40-year-old homeless man whose body was found near the Foothill (210) Freeway in Irwindale was identified Thursday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
Officers from the Irwindale Police Department were called around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday regarding a man down in the 2300 block of Central Avenue. They found the man lying on a dirt road adjacent to the Los Angeles County Flood Control Bradbury Channel underneath the freeway, according to Sgt. Diego Cornejo.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were contacted and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The victim was identified by the medical examiner as Armando Matters. There was no immediate word on a cause of death.
