A man was fatally shot in East Los Angeles and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department homicide detectives Tuesday are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Deputies were called at 7:40 p.m. Monday to the 140 block of South Gage Avenue between First and Third streets where they found the victim, said Lt. Daniel Vizcarra.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
