Federal Protective Service confirm a man is detained after trying to enter the parking lot at Roybal Federal Building downtown Wednesday afternoon.
Contract security officers spotted a weapon in the man’s pickup truck and detained him.
According to Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Andra Higgs, the man was wearing body armor and security personnel discovered multiple loaded firearms and knives in his vehicle.
The mad was subsequently arrested by Federal Protective Service inspectors, Higgs said.
The FPS is investigating the matter, with Los Angeles Police Department and FBI personnel assisting.
