
LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today it has extended membership invitations to 395 people, including performers Henry Golding, Nathan Lane, Leslie Odom Jr., Robert Pattinson and Yuh-Jung Youn.
According to the Academy, the membership class is 46% women, 39% underrepresented ethnic/racial communities and 53% international from 49 countries. The list includes 25 Oscar winners, including Youn, who won this year for her supporting role in "Minari."
Invitations are extended to members of the industry who have "distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures."
The invitations are offered based on the Academy's various branches -- actors, casting directors, cinematographers, costume designers, directors, documentary, executives, film editors, makeup artists and hairstylists, marketing and public relations, music, producers, production design, short films and feature animation, sound, visual effects, writers and members-at- large.
