Motorcyclist killed in Woodland Hills freeway crash identified

A 31-year-old woman who was killed after her motorcycle crashed into a vehicle on the eastbound Ventura (101) Freeway in Woodland Hills was identified Wednesday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

Firefighters responded to the freeway near the De Soto Avenue off-ramp around 5 p.m. Tuesday to a collision involving a motorcyclist lying unresponsively on the ground, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

Fire officials said another vehicle possibly struck the woman after the initial collision.

She was identified by the medical examiner as Allyson Kiran Sabharwal of Woodland Hills.

The California Highway Patrol was investigating the collision.

According to the CHP, all but one lane of the eastbound Ventura Freeway near Topanga Canyon Boulevard was closed during the investigation.
