On this week’s Spout Podcast, British singer-songwriter Myles Smith -- best known for his breakout single "Stargazing" -- shares with host Nick Major what it’s like performing in brand new cities on his current Slightly Less Lonely North American Tour, plus looks ahead to his upcoming stadium shows with Ed Sheeran and Imagine Dragons.
Touching on his musical influences, Myles says his diverse taste shaped his career, gravitating to early Hip Hop, R&B, and Motown as a kid then moving on to Punk and Rock later on. "I had such an eclectic mix," he admits. "I loved like Green Day, I went through a Black Veil Brides period, a Slipknot period; So yeah, I went through it all. That was really the crux of when I fell in love with guitar," he adds.
"After that," he explains, "it became great singer-songwriters like Ed Sheeran, Tom Odell, [Brittany] Howard, and Mumford & Sons. I think that's when I really fell in love with songwriting."
With only his first EP, 2024's You Promised a Lifetime under his belt, Myles plans to drop his first full-length album in the new year. Listen to the full episode with Myles Smith above -- now streaming on the free Audacy app.
