According to CBC News, the Canadian city of Hanna, Alberta -- located just outside of Calgary -- has removed a number of highway signs that celebrated their hometown heroes Nickelback since 2004 because fans and foes alike have apparently been posing a "potential safety risk" when pulling to the side of the highway for all the right reasons.
Apparently, enough people had caused "close calls" when veering over to snap a "Photograph" that the authorities decided to take down the "Proud to be the home of Nickelback" signs and replace them with ones that make no mention of the rockers. Two signs that did feature the name will be donated to the town of 2,600 residents' museum and tourist center. Another sign will have the name of local NHL legend Lannie McDonald added and donated to his Montana restaurant.

A new sign honoring Nickelback is apparently in the works, and the report says the band's record label has reached out to Hanna's mayor, Danny Povaschuk, to have a conversation about the whole ordeal. "I would have never in a million years thought that we would have feedback on the impact of the signs," Povaschuk said.
Nickelback is currently on the road in support of their 10th studio album, Get Rollin'. See the remaining list of dates and grab your tickets right HERE.
