OC Superior Court re-instates mask mandate after 2 COVID-19 cases

The Orange County Superior Courthouse in Santa Ana is re-instituting a mask mandate, beginning Monday, after two people inside the building who tested positive for COVID-19.

The mask mandate applies to employees and visitors to the courthouse. The new rule is scheduled to last for two weeks, unless new infections are reported.

According to the Orange County Register, a courthouse spokesperson said fully vaccinated people were previously allowed to enter the building without a mask, however, no one was asked for proof of vaccination.

The Register reported that the courthouse officials did not disclose whether the people infected were employees or visitors due to privacy laws.

According to the Orange County Health Care Agency, there were 431 new positive cases county-wide and 260,720 cumulative positive cases on Friday.
