
Flooding in Ventura County led to evacuation orders and warnings in Port Hueneme after an overnight thunderstorm dumped several inches of rain.
The Oxnard Civic Center had 3.18 inches of rain in an hour, according to the National Weather Service.
Evacuation orders were issued for North to Bolker Way, South to Channel Islands Boulevard, West to Patterson Road, and East to Triton Street, according to VC Emergency.
Evacuation warnings were issued for North to West Hemlock Street, South to Bolker Way, West to Patterson Road, and East to Trion Street.

Ventura County Fire PIO Andy Van Scive said the fire department received a high number of calls.

“We had 275 911 calls in approximately three to four hours. Our normal call volume is 190 in 24 hours,” he said. “We had 12 plus with water rescues in the area of Oxnard and Port Hueneme, and we're currently on scene and we're from the Huei Bay Club where we had approximately six to eight blocks of homes that were impacted with two to three feet of water.”
Van Scive noted that the department did increase staffing for the storm.
“We staffed up over 100 and 20 people for specifically for this storm,” he said. “We prepositioned equipment both on the east and west counties.”
At 1:28 a.m. Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for Oxnard and Ventura. The warning expired at 2:30 a.m., according to KCAL.
