
A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed Tuesday in an unincorporated area of South Los Angeles near Gardena.
California Highway Patrol officers were called at 4:16 a.m. to the intersection of South Broadway and West Rosecrans Avenue, east of the Harbor (110) Freeway, regarding a pedestrian in the roadway, CHP Officer Erik Larsen told City News Service.

The pedestrian, whose name, age and gender were unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department was called to the scene to assist with the investigation surrounding the collision and the CHP closed Rosecrans in both directions during the investigation.
