Portugal. The Man's 2023 album, Chris Black Changed My Life, is out now featuring 11 all-new tracks including the previously released singles "Dummy," "Plastic Island," "Summer Of Luv," "Thunderdome," and more.
To celebrate, the band will be spinning the full album on vinyl via YouTube today at 11:30AM EST, as well as a take-over of their adopted hometown of Portland, Oregon this Saturday, June 24, with a music video special event at Movie Madness, an in-store signing at Music Millennium, and a merch pop-up at Portland Mercado -- ending with Portland Pickles x PTM Day on Sunday, June 25 at Walker Stadium.
Influenced by their collaborators like Asa Taccone and Black Thought of The Roots who could simply, “create fun and find something when there is nothing,” frontman John Gourley told us recently, the album gives tribute to their close friend and "honorary band member," Chris Black.
“Chris Black was so big, and so full of life, his energy was a constant reminder of how lucky we are and how grateful we should be for the people we get to share this life with. I feel it's really important to honor these people, and that’s the point of this album," PTM's John explains. "To honor these people that change our lives. And say it while they’re here. We love these people. Acknowledge them.”
