BRENTWOOD (CNS) - Several dozen protesters gathered outside Vice President Kamala Harris' Brentwood home Thursday calling for a cease fire in the war between Israel and Hamas.

The gathering began around 8 a.m., with participants gathering in a driveway to the home, chanting and carrying signs with slogans such as "No war crimes in our name."
Harris was not at the home during the protest. According to her office, Harris was in Washington, D.C., on Thursday.
There were no reports of any disturbances or arrests as a result of the protest.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the protest was organized by the group IfNotNow, a group of progressive Jewish activists whose website calls for an end of "U.S. support for Israel's apartheid system."
"We are outside the house of Kamala Harris and Douglas Emhoff asking them to join us in demanding a cease-fire," organizer David Shapiro told The Times at the gathering. "We are American Jews with ancestors around the world. We honor our tradition rooted in the belief that human life is sacred. To achieve genuine safety for ourselves as Jews, for Israelis and for Palestinians, we need to work together toward equality and justice for all and an end to apartheid."
