A fire damaged a residential building in Boyle Heights Thursday, but no one was hurt.

Firefighters sent to the 1600 block of East Pennsylvania Avenue at 9:29 a.m. extinguished the flames in 23 minutes, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
