A landslide in San Clemente has, once more, forced a coastline closure.
Mariposa Bridge, a popular beach trail in the area, was closed for safety reasons, according to David Rebensdorf, the public works director.
“The structure is not designed to handle that type of lateral loading,” he said.
He added the slide started on a private property.
The city is working with the owner and a geologist to work out the next steps.
The Mariposa Bridge had reopened in December after a landslide caused a closure in November.
