A South Bay artist whose gallery opens on Saturday in Manhattan Beach told KNX News’ Nataly Tavidian she’s hoping to bring a fresh perspective to the region’s art scene.
Joanna Garel is a local artist and the owner and director of Garel Fine Art in Manhattan Beach. She said she wants to introduce art collecting to the area.
She said guests can expect a variety of art inside the gallery.
“We'll have Liechtenstein…we'll have Jonas Wood Delphin Finley,” she said. “We have a couple of Picassos. We'll have some of my art. I have another local artist.”
She added that she hopes her gallery is going to be the beginning for a new journey and change in the South Bay for the arts.
“I have a different eye and a different experience that I'd like to share with my locals,” she said, “And also I'm a local artist here too. So I've always felt supported by the community.”
The grand opening of Garel Fine Art will be celebrated at 1069 N Aviation Boulevard from 4 to 8pm on Saturday.
