"For over 30 years the DPSS Adopt-A-Family Program has brought joy to thousands of families during the holiday season."

In 2020 the program provided gifts of clothing, toys, food and other items to more than 2,200 low-income families, Jimenez added.

Participating in DPSS's Adopt-A-Family Program is simple. All you have to do is choose the size of the family, the general location or how many families you would like to sponsor.

Once a sponsor is matched with a family they can review the wish list and decide what to get and how to give it to the adopted family.

The deadline to sponsor a family is Dec. 10. For more information about how to apply, click here.

If you're unable to adopt a family, but would still like to help, consider donating through the program's Amazon Smile wishlist.
