Three individuals have died in connection with what authorities believe may have been tainted narcotics consumed at a party in Venice on Friday.
Officers were summoned to the home at the 200 block of Carroll Canal just after midnight on Saturday. There, they reportedly found three of the four individuals connected to the incident dead on the scene.
TMZ has reported that among the dead were 42-year-old comedian and TV writer Fuquan Johnson, who had appeared on stage at Hollywood's Laugh Factory last week; 48-year-old fellow comic Enrico Colangeli, professionally known as Rico Angeli and 33-year-old Natalie Williamson.
“He was one of those bright spots in the community where everybody knew…you always knew he was gonna smile at you, you always knew he was gonna say something nice,” comedian Ron G., a friend of Johnson’s, told CBS Los Angeles.
Comedian Kate Quigley, 39, also reportedly consumed some of the substance attributed to the deaths. She was hospitalized, but is expected to recover.
TMZ reported that cocaine laced with fentanyl ingested by all may be blamed for the deaths. The L.A. Coroner's Office is performing an autopsy on the bodies of the deceased.
As of Monday, the Los Angeles Police Department has not indicated whether they intend to investigate the incident. It is not yet known who supplied the substance involved, or who may have purchased it.
