Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has been credited for boosting local economies, and Los Angeles was no exception.
According to a report by the California Center for Jobs and the Economy, the singer's six-night stint at SoFi Stadium brought an estimated $320 million bump to the Los Angeles County GDP, including $160 million for local businesses. It also said that employment is believed to have increased by 3,300.
John Rodriguez, owner of Angel Limousine told KNX News he benefited from the concert.
“I feel like I should donate to Taylor Swift because she brought us the trickle-down effect,” he said. “I mean, obviously you say, ‘Ok, John, you're you made money. You took people there and then your drivers made money because they took people there.’ But my babysitter made money. She made more money this week than she has in any week since she's worked for me because I was gone for six straight days. Every time we went, it was a 10, 11, 12-hour day”
Other cities have that have benefited from Swift’s concert include Philadelphia and Chicago. Jason Lesniewicz from Choose Chicago told KNX In Depth’s Charles Feldman and Rob Archer that hotel revenues in Chicago reached an “all-time record” when she performed there.
