Los Angeles band The Linda Lindas have gone viral by taking punk rock to the library.

The band, made up of Mila, 10, Eloise, 13, Lucia, 14, and Bela, 16, performed at the Los Angeles Public Library as part of its celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and their performance has taken the internet by storm.
Before performing the song “Racist Sexist Boys,” the quartet shared the story behind it as it was written in response to a racist incident Mila experienced. “A little while before we went into lockdown, a boy in my class came up to me and said that his dad told him to stay away from Chinese people,” Mila said. “After I told him that I was Chinese, he backed away from me. Eloise and I wrote this song based on that experience.”
“So this is about him and all the other racist, sexist boys in this world!” Eloise added.
Tom Morello took to Twitter praising the girls’ performance as he called “Racist Sexist Boys” the “song of the day!”
The Linda Lindas already shared the stage with notable acts as Variety reports they’ve played with the likes of Best Coast, Money Mark and L.A. punk legend Alice Bag.
Additionally, The Linda Lindas opened up for Bikini Kill at one of their reunion shows at the Hollywood Palladium in 2019.
