The Orange County Fair has a lot to offer people -- rides, food, music and now COVID-19 vaccines.
Visitors will be able to walk into a clinic and get their jabs Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. No appointment is required.
Fair CEO Michele Richards told KNX the fair already worked with the county health care agency during the pandemic, so it made sense to continue administering vaccinations.
“Our property served as a testing site and a vaccination superpod,” she said.
“As we were working with the health care agency to plan for the return of the OC Fair, we made the suggestion, ‘Hey, why don’t we include a vaccination clinic right in the fair?’”
The clinic will run until the fair ends. People will be able to choose between receiving the Pfizer or the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.
The Orange County Health Care Agency reported 593 daily positive COVID-19 cases on Friday. There were no deaths reported.
“In Orange County, we know that there are some people who have not gotten around to getting their vaccine,” said Richards.
“Why not take care of it while you are having a day of fun at the OC Fair?”
The 2021 fair runs from July 16 to Aug. 15. Ticket information and hours are available on the OC Fair's website.
