LOS ANGELES (KNX) – A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a driver in a deadly South L.A. hit-and-run.
In the early hours of April 9, Richard Cordova was crossing Hoover Street when someone driving a silver sedan struck him, police said.
“The vehicle carried the victim nearly a block to 75th Street where the victim came to rest,” the Los Angeles Police Department said in a press release. The suspect fled the scene.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced Cordova dead at the scene.
Detective Gerald Chavarria said the damage to the car should be noticeable to anyone who spots it.
“Maybe you're walking down the street and say, ‘Hey, this car has been parked here for several days and has the damage consistent with it’,” he said.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Officer Gerald Chavarria at 323-421-2500. You may also submit an anonymous tip through lacrimestoppers.org.
