Fire Investigators with the Los Angeles City Fire Department rescued a trapped litter of kittens from under the floorboards of a burned home.
Members from LAFD's Arson Counter Terrorism Section returned to a previously burned home near MacArthur Park earlier this week. The team was planning to make an educational video and train with the department’s accelerant detection canine, Blue.
The day took a turn when investigators discovered a litter of kittens living in a crawl space under the floorboards. The litter’s mother could not be found.
Investigators freed the kittens from their hiding place and delivered them to LA Animal Services. LAFD said the kittens seemed happy and healthy at the shelter.
