Update: Firefighters making good progress on Wee Vill Fire, no injuries or structures damaged

A brush fire is burning 300 acres in the Fairmont area of Lancaster Thursday morning.

LA County Fire Department on Twitter wrote, "Crews continue to make good progress with much of the fire activity diminished. Winds remain high. No injuries reported. No reported structures damaged."

The fire is called Wee Vill Fire.

Units are on scene and it's a third-alarm fire. Additional units are en route, according to the fire department.

The fire was first reported around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

Winds are gusting up to 50 miles-per-hour in the area, according to crews who are on the scene.

The fire has moved towards the Wee Vill Market on Avenue D in Quartz Hill.

LA County Fire officials say the fire holding at 300 acres.
