Bridgers was recently a guest on Elton’s Apple Music 1 show Rocket Hour and the “Rocketman” singer told her “If you don’t win at least one (GRAMMY), I’m going to hit someone, OK?”

Although Bridgers received four nominations at the 2021 GRAMMY Awards, Best New Artist, Best Alternative Music Album, Best Rock Song, and Best Rock Performance, she was ultimately shut out of the winners list.

Shortly after the show, Twitter users began to poke fun at John’s statement and offered a word of caution for anyone who crosses paths with him.

“Phoebe Bridgers didn’t win the grammy someone keep an eye out on elton john,” one user wrote.

Singer-songwriter Julien Baker offered her help as well saying “it’s me & you Elton, who are we punching?”
