The woman arrested and later released following a deadly stabbing at a Rolling Hills Estate mall in 2018 has been arrested again, according to a new report.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office filed murder and robbery charges against Cherie Townsend after new evidence was found linking her to the stabbing death of Susan Leeds, the Daily Breeze reported.
The outlet did not specify what the additional evidence that was found was; however, the charges filed included an accusation that Townsend used a knife. She was reportedly taken into custody on Aug. 17 and is being held on $2 million bail.
On May 3, 2018, Susan Leeds was found dead in her SUV in the parking lot of Promenade on the Peninsula in Rolling Hills Estates.
Townsend was arrested on May 17, 2018, and released days later after the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office requested for additional investigation.
