2019 was a busy year for Yelawolf, touring the world and dropping two albums of new music on fans. The southern-fried flows of the veteran MC veered into a new chapter in November, as the rapper released his first independent album since 2005 and dug in for Ghetto Cowboy.

Both a call back to the past and a look towards the future, Yelawolf appears re-upped and ready for a new decade, back with acrobatic bars and fearless delivery on his sixth studio album.

“This ‘Ghetto Cowboy’ album has been the most gratifying to me as an artist being that it’s my first indie release on my own label,” he said in a statement about the LP. “I have no one to answer to and that can be a scary responsibility.”

“I ain’t reinventing the wheel here, just doing what I love to do, doing what I think is dope and original,” he added, noting that the album is “unapologetic, brutally honest and at times completely vulnerable.”

Before going international for a string of 2020 tour dates around the world, Yelawolf joined us for a special intimate performance, showcasing new tracks “Opie Taylor” and “You and Me,” and going back to his hit “Till It’s Gone.”
