ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The eagle featured in the logo of American's largest brewer is making an about face. Anheuser-Busch unveiled a new, all-gold logo on Tuesday and changed the direction the bird is facing.
The St. Louis-based brewery, owned by Belgium's AB InBev says in the new logo is a "more premium" design and shows the eagle "looking forward" into the future, instead of the past.

"The new look is equal parts inspiration and aspiration – respecting the company’s proud heritage while looking forward to its bright future," the company stated in a press release. "The 'A&Eagle,' one of Anheuser-Busch’s most distinctive assets, is now rendered in a dynamic gold color that mirrors the golden hue of beer and barley, the cornerstones of Anheuser-Busch’s business. The eagle is now facing to the right and firmly in flight, boldly gazing into the future."
The new logo was designed by a San Francisco-based consultancy firm.
As of Wednesday, signs around the St. Louis brewery's campus haven't been changed since the company was bought by InBev in 2008. They're still blue with the classic A-and-eagle logo.
And if you're wondering about the iconic sign from the old Sportsman's Park that now sit along Interstate 64 in downtown St. Louis, yes, it's been dark for awhile, but AB maintains it's "actively working" to get it repaired.
